Camden, New Jersey Still Most Dangerous City?

Well, despite moves to try and shake the image, Camden, New Jersey is still ranked as the most dangerous city in America. Located just outside of Philadelphia, it is marred by high crime and run-down housing. Even with all the waterfront development in the past couple years, it still has "block after run-down block, (with) boys in puffy jackets... in doorways of abandoned homes."
As someone who grew up in a neighboring town, Cherry Hill, I have to agree with that image. I remember going to the Rutger Campus for summer courses there and not wanting to wander off the 3 block campus at night for fear of my life; and making beer runs into Camden as a high schooler since they were less than likely to check our IDs.
Fun times.
Word of advice, you can go to the Camden Waterfront for concerts and stuff, but don't get lost after dark.
