Happy New Year 2010!

Whoa, it's been almost a year since a post? Looks like Twitter and Facebook have taken preference over blogging. I suppose it's the true shift to micro-blogging as it's called. Knowing who reads the post and communicating more directly with followers and friends with both applications trumps the use of almost anonymous "yelling into the darkness" that the formal blog represents.
Sure, one could surmise that sites like Twitter are the same thing. But blogs have comments (which are used rarely) and Twitter has Re-Tweets and Direct Messages, and can be linked to other sites like Facebook.
However, if you don't understand Twitter or Facebook, then it's probably not for you. I've spoken to several people who totally don't understand the purpose of such sites and it's sometimes difficult to explain to them just what it's all about. But that's the catch-22. If you don't know, it's not for you. Probably just like when you're too old to be in the club, you shouldn't go there in the first place.

But anyway, looks like the blogging paradigm has shifted, at least for me, more Twitter and Facebook, and less Blogspot... :(

Tilt-shift photos: a fun way to waste your time

Here's a couple of photos I took that I put through the 'tilt shift' treatment, basically trying to make regular photos look like a model or toy set.
You can do it online at tiltshiftmaker.com.

Gears of War 2: So much fun.

I'm going to tell you something, if you have an XBox360, get yourself Gears of War 2.
No questions asked.  Just go get it.

I play alot of games, and I haven't played a game that just THIS MUCH FUN to play.  There's so many layers upon layers of fun, great co-op play, great graphics, and great gameplay.
This is THE game to get to play with friends online.

It takes place in a gorgeously, detailed, ugly environment; where you fight against an enemy called The Hoard, that you, as a humanoid race, are fighting against for your own survival.  The story this time is much darker than the first installation of the game, but the same third-person, duck and cover gameplay is still intact.  The most sublime part of the game, in my opionion, is the active reload,  which is really like a little mini game.  When you run out of ammo for your weapon, and push the reload button once and then twice with the correct timing, you're rewarded with bonuses specific to your weapon.  Plus, an active reload is faster than a passive reload, which can mean the difference between life and death (or continue playing or go back to your last checkpoint) in this game, especially when you're up against some big, badasses that are in some ways, better and more entertaining than the first game.

Bottom line, go get it and hook up with me on XBox Live:  peeek

I'm on Facebook, and I can't quit...

I'm sorry, I've been away, I've delved into a section of the interwebs where people congregate and update their status and post pictures of their friends and add friends to their inner circle...
I'm on Facebook.
And I can't stop.

I find that I'm totally hooked, updating my status incessantly, and checking out pictures and posts from other people. I've connected with old high school friends and friends from work and school. All in one place.

That's where I'm at now.
So if I've sent you a friends invite, please add me...

"First Asian Boy", why, yes, I do find this funny.

Yes, I find this interesting and funny.
I found this video while I was looking at this.
And this, Keni Styles blog. Who is this Keni Styles, you ask? Well, he's just an Asian pr0n actor. Is he a gay Asian pr0n actor, you ask? No. He's not. He gets it on with the ladies.
I know, I know, crazy, isn't it? Something totally not common, but interesting to see. An Asian guy breaking all the stereotypes and doing it.
I mean, Asian girls in pr0n are a dime a dozen. But you never see Asian men doing it, at least not that often...

Sallie Mae is a bitch.

Sallie Mae is a bitch. Don't take my word for it, just check it out here. There's millions of people who feel the same way about her.
It's way too late for me, Sallie already owns me for the next 50 years. Or until I die.
So I hope you all can understand why I'm all pissed and think that Sallie Mae is a bitch and has f*cked up my FICO score. And this time around, I didn't get a refund check.
And did you ever try calling Sallie to get some sh*t fixed?
You don't ever get to talk to her, she's off in her ivory tower, counting her money. Instead, you get to talk to this guy:

Who basically ate Jollibee for lunch and talks to you while checking his Friendster account pretending to be all "I'm totally living in the states, and talking to you from Sallie Mae's house".
But really is just one of many Filipino call center employees who represent Sallie Mae and basically treat you like a number on their screen.

Next time I see Sallie Mae, I'm going to take her out to dinner and then punch her in the uterus.

And then there's this guy:

Remove U3 from your flash drive to speed things up

Being in school and work exposes me to alot of flash drive use. Not only are they convenient, better to store files than floppy discs (remember those), and a great way to back up data; but for some they are harboring a memory and time waster in the form of the U3 Launchpad.
Most people don't even know what it is, but if you've seen the little logo pop up whenever you insert your flashdrive, then you have it.
It probably takes 10-15 seconds MORE to load data from a U3 flashdrive compared to a regular flashdrive.
Believe me, you don't need the U3 Launchpad to make your flashdrive work.
So use the U3 uninstaller, and take back what's yours.
Time and space.

Putting off Differential Diagnosis....

Yeah, sitting in a coffee shop, trying to study some stupid crap, but instead I get the urge to procrastinate (my special mutant ability) and put up a post....

So far, fall semester sucks a55.  I truely cannot wait till all this school is done and I have some kind of normal weekend life and social life.  I told the first year class that classic NAVY SEALs line... "Look to your left, look to your right... One of these people will not be here next semester."
I think I made them mad.  I don't think I'm their favorite upperclassman.
Hey, I'm just keeping it real.

Anyway, did I mention SOCOM?  No?  Then you better pull up your damn boot straps and get to fragging, mister, cuz it's coming in 2 weeks.  I've been playing the beta version, and I'm not having a good time. Glitches, mysterious boots from game, trouble connecting, borken interfaces...

(time out... hot chick just walked in....)

Where was I?  Yeah, socom is good, but it's got alot of flaws still, and needs work.  I, as well as alot of other people, are hoping that it all gets fixed, and we can all log on and get our frag on with little trouble...

That's all for now, gotta get back to reading this damn textbook and try to retain some information....

LOL! Palin's Facebook page

Man, it just keeps getting better and better.  I think this chick out ranks the BUSHmonkey in terms of sheer stupidity:

Letter to John McCain from HEART.

This is awesome, Ann and Nancy Wilson blast the Republican party and McCain for illegally(?) using their song for a Republican anthem. Stupid.
I especially like the part where they reference McCain's saggy ass and chomping yellow teeth.
