Well fear not, flurry has a little java program that you can easily download to your cell phone and have access to ALL your e-mail accounts and RSS news feeds. It works with all phones and service providers. You can read exactly how it works, but let me tell you, I have my gmail, hotmail, and yahoo e-mail now in one simple interface on my phone. WOOT!

As little flash drives are ubiquitous as there are now, they're bound to be misplaced or lost. If you ever lose your flash drive, wouldn't it be great to have it tell the person who picked it up who it belonged to?
Well, Daily Cup of Tech has a little script you can put on your flash drive to make a screen pop up saying who it belongs to when it gets inserted into a USB port. You basically add in your text, and it'll say whatever you want. Just download and install a few files on your flash drive.

Hey, not really a download but an invaluable service, especially to those living in urban areas such as New York City. It's called Rentometer, just enter in some details and it'll analyze your property and compare it to the surrounding area to let you know if you're paying too much. It even has a Google Maps plug-in so you can see exactly where the other properties are.
Me? Shh. Don't tell anyone, but I'm paying 600 bucks below market for my 2 bedroom duplex.

I thought this was interesting. It's a way to visually organize your Windows folders by giving them different colors or symbolic icons like "in progress", "work files", or "important".

Looking at the above picture, it would hard to believe that I took it using several shots from my camera phone. The long-awaited download of the day is AutoStitch. It's a program that will take any series of photos taken of an area, and stitch them together. You gotta check out the crazy shots that you can take by just shooting tons of pics randomly and then stitching them together with this program.

Whew. It's been a long time since I gave you some goods. Lots of things on my plate, like vacations and hard drive deaths, have kept me away from searching the net and trying out the programs and stuff that help you guys out.
Onto the cheddar....

If you're still trying to run you computer with that pirated copy of Microsoft's Office, or you just bought a new laptop (wink, wink) and it only has a trial version installed and you don't have a pirated copy, then this is for you.
Everyone needs a word processor, an 'excel' spreadsheet program, a 'power point' program... All those things came with Microsoft Office. But they didn't come free, and let's face it, they take up alot of computer resources.
Enter Open Office. It's got all the programs you need, open-source style, so you don't have to kowtow to the man. Totally compatible with all MS .doc, .ppt, .xls files. Yup, it runs on Macs, too.

Hey, not so much of a download, but an important tip. I felt this was SO effective that I had to share with you all. Everyone has an MP3 player nowadays. And everyone has headphones, or more commonly, earbuds. Eventually, you'll put them away, wrapping them around your MP3 player or around a coil. But since I started using my w800i walkman phone, I couldn't really wrap the earbuds around the phone itself, it would defeat the purpose of the phone. And then, you start getting tangles. Tangles and your earbud covers fall off, or something like that.
Enter this little tip: The "Metal Horns".
Release the 'rocker' in you and stick you hand out like pictured above. Hold the earbuds with you thumb and then wrap the wire 'figure 8' style around your extended fingers. When you get close to the end, wrap the excess around your 'figure 8' to hold it in place.
Viola! No tangles!

That's the way that the hard drive is formatted. Check this site out for some ways to have your computer access your hard drive faster, and run and perform better. But if you don't have the cajones to do this, then you can sit back and wait for your computer to load, wait for it to access files, wait for it to transfer files, and generally be a little limp wristed pansy-boy.
