More pictures from the big day.
I got engaged. The plan was to meet my girlfriend in front of Barnes & Noble at Union Square in Manhattan after work. I had some co-workers stay inside the store, ready to pop up a big sign that I made. I even had to call B&N corporate headquarters to get permission to do this, but in the end, everything worked out. We all waited around for her to come by and when she did, I distracted her for a moment while the sign got put up. I had to direct her attention to the big a55 sign in the window and it took a couple seconds for it to register in her head, but when she saw it, she pretty much went all crazy on me...
This is me waiting outside Barnes & Noble, can't tell I'm all nervous, huh?
Making the phone call just to find out where she is, she was a block away.
She finally arrives, suspecting nothing. Notice the man in the background in the white shirt? Another accomplice.
I direct her attention to the window. My accomplice in the background, posing as a tourist, begins filming.
She finally realizes what's going on. Hand on mouth, gasping.
"AAAAAHHAHHAAAAA!!!!!!!"
I think she said 'yes'.
This is the guy who introduced us and got the ball rolling. It's all his fault.
Later, at the bar, I decided that I was still in shock and in need of more drinks.
Thanks to everyone who helped out, taking pictures, videotaping, holding up the sign, offering moral support. I don't think I could have pulled it off without you all. I guess it's just another phase in life, and... (deep breath) I'm getting a little older.
