DIY: Digital Photo Frame
So I had an old HP laptop lying around, and I decided to make it into a digital photo frame so I could see all the pictures I've taken with my digital camera but never got printed out. I basically removed all the non-important stuff and placed it in a shadow box frame.
This is the completed project. I finished it over the weekend, the longest parts being the actual semi-disassemble of the laptop and assembling the shadow box.
I had to cut some holes in the back and drill some holes in the side for the ventilation. I'm running it all the time and also lowered the brightness of the LCD so it won't run so hot.
This is how the inside looks. I positioned the laptop inside the frame with the use of some wood inserted at the corners.
The shadow box frame is actually two frames that I joined together with two small hinges. It turns out the dimensions of the laptop really couldn't fit in a single stock frame.
