It's the ROCKBOX! Open-source firmware upgrade that allows you more control over that damn white thingamajiggy. Out with that tired interface, in with the new, customizable controls.
Finally, a crossfader and gapless playback! I may have to buy an iPod afterall and make it a NON-iPod.
