Digital Life Wrap-up
Center, the only consumer technology and gaming show on the east cost.
It was a bit bigger this year, with Sony making a big splash with the
Playstation 3. They only had two working models there. I guess any
more than that then they run the risk of overheating and catching
fire. The line was crazy on Saturday, but very manageable on Friday.
I was NOT IMPRESSED. Sony, why must you forsake me with no vibration?
Risks of overheating? Stupid SIXAXIS controller? Why? That
argument is left for another post.
For a second year in a row, Goggle, was absent. They were there the
first year, but i suppose they got TOO big, with them buying out all
the Web 2.0 companies, and decided that little old New York is a waste
of time for them. Oh well.
As well as Creative was absent. My favorite MP3 audio underdog was
conspicuously absent. Usually, they're got a big booth and give away
MP3 players and earphones. Interesting why they weren't there.
Big games: Guitar Hero II, Dance Dance Revolution, and oh yeah,
KARAOKE. I couldn't go around without some little punk from
Generation Y or some teeny bopper screaming into a mic and having it
blasted for a 100 foot radius. Hey, call me guilty, I got up onstage
for the Karaoke Revolution: American Idol Edition; but that was for a
prize. Failed miserably, though. Who knew that pitch and tone were
important in karaoke?
Also got go to a little party with free beer on Saturday. Walked all
around and waited for that. There's nothing like some free beer.
Minor celebrities sighted: Jason Mewes, Patrick Norton, Robert Heron,
Roger Chang. Don't worry if you don't know them. They're only famous
in the geek world.
Be sure to check out the photo albums I've put up. Got some good
shots.
