LONG TIME GONE!

Well, it's been a long time since I've posted anything. I suppose that the elongated posting of the engagement pictures were left up so that the news could get around, and the fact was that it's hard to find time to put sh*t up here.

First off, just finished a book called "Stiff", by Mary Roach. It was a random book that I picked up at Barnes & Noble. It's an interesting read about bodies basically, the cadavers and their roles in medical schools, forensics studies, crash tests, and burials. Did you know that the terminal velocity of a falling body is 120mph? And it only takes 500 feet to reach this speed? And the maximum speed at which a human being has a respectable shot at surviving a feet-first fall into water is 70mph?
Basic stuff, really. Definitely a recommendation for your summer reading list.

Also, I've been trying to get my school stuff in order. Seems that I'll be pretty busy come this fall, having classes Monday, Wednesday, and Friday nights; plus all day on Sunday. There goes my prime SOCOM playing time. I guess it'll take more than a little effort to get that DPT degree.

Oh yeah, got myself an XBOX 360! IT IS SO FRIGGIN" SWEET!!! My new fiance got it for me, since I got her the bling bling. (Yeah, that means that I own her now) I've been busy playing Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter (when I'm not playing SOCOM).

The graphics just blow the PS2 away, HI-DEF gaming. I mean, that's 1080i, max resolution! My TV never had it so good. Unfortunately, the DVDs are not in high definition, only putting out a maximum resolution of 480p, so I have to adjust the TV display settings each time I want to watch a movie. Bummer.

Just saw the X-Men 3: The Last Stand movie. I liked it. It wasn't a complete disappointment. First time on film for the " fastball special". I especially enjoyed the de-mutination of Mystique... naked!

So, let's see, what else was there in the past two weeks?

Looks like my New York Urban Professionals Volleyball League team is in the tank. Playing at Division I against bigger and faster teams? It'll be a miracle if we get off the donut. 0-6 right now.

The SOCOM Urgent Fury Tournament is still dragging on. The final three in Africa are trading blows. [APC] A Perfect Circle is doing well, we're in second or first place, depending on the day, and we have a chance to finish strong into the final. We just have a difficult time fielding a team for each night's match. I mean, come on, we gotta get serious and start playing like we mean it or we'll be left in the dust...

That's it for now, hopefully I can get some more posts in for this week. If I'm not downloading music that is...
