Angry BellSouth Withdrew City Donation because of free Wifi

From Boing Boing: "Hours after New Orleans officials announced Tuesday that they would deploy a city-owned, wireless Internet network in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, regional phone giant BellSouth Corp. withdrew an offer to donate one of its damaged buildings that would have housed new police headquarters, city officials said yesterday."
This just shows the sheer greed of this company. This is going on in alot of metropolitan cities: No free wi-fi internet access because the local telephone and cable companies stand to lose millions.
