10 Reasons to Wait for the PS3
Feel sorry for the XBox 360 early adopters out there. I've got a list of why it's better to wait till Q2 next year for the PS3:
10. XBox 360 doesn't have a killer app. No one game takes the cake here.
9. Dual screen and 1080p support. Dual screen? That means panoramic viewing of games, and 1080p? Damn the 360 is only 720p. The PS3 is obviously more forward-thinking.
8. Hefty expandability / connectivity options. Sony has more ways to connect and expand. Bluetooth and USB 2.0? Check. Compact flash, SD, and Memory stick slot? Check. Connectivity to PSP games? Check.
7. You can still pre-order. It happens everytime a new system is launched, but no one ever listens and they're stuck with a shortage. Just go to your local game retailer and put down 50 bucks for the system and then you're guaranteed to get one and laugh at those who don't.
6. Seven-player wireless support. Multiplayer is the life of the party.
5. The HD IP camera. A new peripherial, presumibly called the Eye Toy 2, will feature full high def resolution and ability to connect to the internet directly, so you can transmit that "in-your-face" face to that guy you just fragged in Texas.
4. Full backward compatability. Microsoft only supports a couple games that it chooses to run in "emulation" on the 360, but Sony has more of a back library and now you can play all of them on the PS3. Also look for graphical improvements with PSOne and PS2 games on the PS3.
3. Stronger Japanese developer support. The XBox is more US centered. The big names in gaming: Square Enix, Konami, Capcom, Bandai, Namco, etc. all supported Sony from day one.
2. Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Remember that killer app lacking from the XBox? Well, PS3 has MGS4:GOTP. It's creator, Hideo Kojima, annually puts out the best games for the Sony systems exclusively.
and the number 1 reason to wait for the PS3:
1. The Blu-ray player. The next storage media, featuring 50GB+ of data on one disc. That's more that 5x the space that the 360's DVD format can muster. Blu-ray, the most advanced storage medium for any gaming system on the planet.
