Technical Dificulties: Hard Drive Crash

Damn, my heart has been ripped out of my chest and I sink into darkness. My external hard drive is no more.
I tried hooking it up to my laptop, trying different cables, even took it to a specialist to mount it in a desktop, but nothing.... Looks like I'll have to send it out and spend a big chunk of change to get all my data back. Damn you, LaCie!!!!
