Wired's NextFest!

NextFest Sept 2006
Sep 30, 2006 - 49 Photos

This past Saturday, I went over to the Jacob Javits Center and took a look at Wired Magazine's NEXTFEST. It was an exhibit of future technologies in various fields. My favorite interactive exhibit was the Brain Ball, where you win by relaxing. And I know how to relax. I just go friggin' brain dead and win. Easy. You can see my lack of brain activity in one of the photos.
Also of interest were the applications in healthcare. They had a superficial vein veiwer, called, what else, Luminetx VeinViewer. I got a picture of that one, too, on my arm.
I also got a kick out of the new tech in security and military applications: full flexible body armor, heads-up displays controlled by gloved hand movements, small portable spy planes, bomb robots, ets. Cool sh*t.
