Transit Strike Day 2
It's still on, I woke up at 0615 hrs and got a ride came at 0630 hrs. I'm at work and hearing more stories about the TWU and how they want all these demands.
To me, some have merit, but others are totally ridiculous.
Ok, fine, you want to be treated better, have better facilities, bathrooms and breaks.
But the major sticking points are about a 24% increase in pay over the next 3 years, lowering the retirement age to 55, not paying for their pension, and also not paying a deductible for their healthcare.
What makes them better than other public services?
55 retirement age?
Not paying for their healthcare? They pay for a co-payment now, and they think that's enough. What the hell do they think?
And 24% increase in pay?
Ludicrous!!!
I blame the TWU, Robert Toussaint, Mayor Bloomberg, the MTA, all the transit workers, their families, the Republicans, everyone!
