Last Volleyball for the Season?
Last Saturday, we all went out again to Pier 25 and then to the sport court at Battery Park City perhaps for the last time this season. It was a windy, cool day. Not a typical summer volleyball day, but an end of season, dire-hards only play day.
Big L hitting on the net, she's a monster.
The old man with the pokey, and he's not even left handed.
Big L passing the nails. "Run, Johnny, run!"
Mikey with the attack, check the extension.
Mikey goes horizontal for the dig.
Big L shows Mikey how it's done.
Passing formation number 1. Big L and Johnny T.
Passing formation number 2. Davey "El Mariachi" and pk.
Ahh, alot of fun... Except when I totally jammed my thumb trying to set the ball with all the wind. Let me tell you something, two words: NOT. PLEASANT.
This day may have been the last day of the summer. I don't know how well the weather will cooperate with us into September and October, but odds are we'll be moving indoors soon.
