Shooter, Marine Sniping and Me
Early last week, I finished this great book: Shooter: Autobiography of The Top-Ranked Marine Sniper .
I was just passing through Barnes & Noble one day after I went to the periodical section to check out some recent videogame mags and the cover caught my eye. I read the back and it seemed pretty interesting. I don't read too much, the last book I read was Dogeaters. And before that I tried to get through The Diary of Anais Nin (since she is my favorite author, although it's tough finding new work from her... since she's dead).
But I digress, Shooter is a great book. Starts out in Mogadishu and ends with Iraq, this guys has over 60 confirmed kills. I read it in 3 days, couldn't put it down. The author, Jack Coughlin, writes straight and simple, an easy read. Lots of details and battle facts. Since I'm totally into SOCOM, I liked the different inspirational tactics presented in the book.
"Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast."
Can't beat that.
I highly recommend this book.
