keep you chin up, london.
as you all know, london was rocked by terrorists' bombs today, july 7. close to 40 people lost their lives during a normal everyday commute. you know the story, you can look it up on The New York Times or MSNBC or blogs.
my thoughts and prayers go out to our neighbors across the pond. watching the video and seeing prime minister tony blair making his comments on the tv after the attacks really brings back memories of all that has happened here in new york back in 2001.
it is truly sad that we, as humans, need to be divided in thought and belief, so much so that we will kill one another under an umbrella cause of 'jihad' or political statement. people need to understand that violence and terrorism is, for the most part, pointless. as the politicians of the targeted countries seldom bend to the attackers demands and all that is lost is life. all that is affected are the lives of the inhabitants of the targeted countries. those people now live under a cloud of fear and anxiety. everyone is affected, whether those thoughts are vocalized or kept hidden, everyone is affected.
now, we must struggle to maintain a sense of normalcy, even while the threat level elevates. we must go on with our lives; and by pretending to not be afraid, stand fast against the forces of terrorism. by showing our vigilance and maintaining a life fit for a first-world, industrialized society, we prevent terrorists from acheiving their goal of creating terror and fear.
for years, mankind has waged war and violence upon one another for land, resources, or beliefs. that was the norm. war was official, structured. but in this day in age, a frontline is never clear. war is all around us. but if we are to progress as a species, the base needs of religion, politics, and resources must be addressed and shared.
may the force be with us...
and now on a lighter note,
watch this: FPS Doug.
remember kids... real violence is bad. virtual violence is funny.
